Adriatic sea is loaded with bays and beaches but there are so called Heavens on Earth which Lonely Planet and NY times didn’t discover yet and hopefully won’t. We will give you a list of 10 of them but of course there are many more. Remember that Croatia has more than 1000 islands so there are plenty fish in the sea if you now what I mean.
1.GLUHA VALA or the Deaf bay
Only two kilometers from Grohote on the island of Šolta Gluha vala found her place. Created from seven smaller bays , she got the name from her specific acoustic attributes which are known from the ancient times. Archaeologists say that one bay was fishpond of the emperor Diocletian, and still there is a wall who proves the fact.
2.STARA BAŠKA or the Old Baška
Stara Baška is located on the south side of the island of Krk, about 10 kilometers from Punat. It is an old fishermen village, ideal for everyone who likes to enjoy in quite and natural beauties. The bay is proteced from the traffic so the only way to get to her is with small, beautiful, mediterranean path. Can you ask for more?
Cres is full of super beautiful natural beauties, but the real paradise is hidden in small, hidden beaches. Meli beach is located on the east side of Cres island and the bay is one of the most beautiful sights in Croatia.
The color of the sea and the smell of Meditterranean are combining in a unique experience which is hard to describe with words, but who visits the hidden bays of Cres once, will no longer want to leave it.
The Zabodarski bay is proclaimed as one of the most beautiful bays of Mali Lošinj island, and certainly is one of the most magnificent wild beaches. It is eight kilometers away from the center of the island and it is surrounded with pine tree forest so you can find enough shade to hide yourself from the sun.
Pritišćina bay on the island of Vis is one of the smallest but yet beautiful Vis bays. It is located on the southern side of the island and the only way to get to her is with long and macadame path from Podhumlje, that’s why this bay is most loving destination for adventurist looking for treasure.
Another bay on Vis, Grandovac is located on the left side at the very begining to the entrance to the Vis bay. Only 30 minutes by walking from the Vis town so it is not the most hidden bay but it is definitely worth visiting it.
Žuljana is a small bay and a village on the southern side of Pelješac. It is connecetd with the coastline road with Ston. The whole bay is loaded with sandy and pebble beaches, and one of them won our hearts, Vučine beach.
Mali Bok is breathtaking, small bay on the Cres island, near the Orlec town. There is a pebble beach which enters the cristal clear sea step by step. On the beach there are no trees, but is surrounded with rocks so there is enough shade to cover yourself. The bay is situated 10 kilometers from Cres and it’s definitely worthy visit it even by walking!
Jagodna bay is located on Hvar island, bathed in sun and cristal clear sea, surrounded with thick pine forest and with the sound of mediterranean idill.
Situated in between Ivan Dolac and Svete Nedjelje and sould be a destination for everyone who likes sun and sea.
Sahara is located on the Rab island , Lopar town, and this sandy bay is very similar to the Heaven beach on the same island, but its much more quite and basically untouched. However the way to beach is hard to get, still it is a real oasis of peace. If you want to avoid packed beaches on Rab, Sahara is the perfect solution for you.
