Bokeria restaurant is, Simply put,  stunning! This is a shining star in Split’s crown. Bokeria was inspired by the La Boqueira market in Barcelona. Modern and stylish restaurant in the old city offers sofisticated food, respectable wine list and excellent service. Interior has smooth shelves lining the walls, which are stacked with wine bottles and liquor, while a mosaic tiled bar creates a spanish-like felist and excellent service.

The restaurant offers simple Mediterranean meals and the menu is decided based on the season and the vegetables available. It’s located near Split’s market, which ensures that the ingredients are always fresh.

Bokeria is an amazing restaurant whose food reflects local Croatian traditions with a modern flare. Like all great food it starts with the freshest ingredients. Bokeria clearly prides itself on local, seasonal produce and meats. But, not everyone can turn those into such incredible meals like these chefs. The wines were equally matched to the top shelf food as was the service. Fight through the throngs in Splits little streets.

  1. “Warm and Welcome”

I visited Split in October, and it was quite cold and windy as I walking through the city streets at night. I passed by the Bokeria Restaurant, and it looked so warm and inviting that I had to walk in. I was not disappointed. Courteous service right off the bat that made me feel right at home. I ordered a rare steak and have to honestly say that it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. Completely unexpected. That combined with the wine and good service made this a definite highlight of my trip. Highly recommend this restaurant for any visitor to Split.

  2. “Modern & fun eatery in centre of Split”

This is a classy but accessible eatery in the centre of the old town of Split. A wonderful dining room with modern decor and friendly efficient staff to match. I thoroughly enjoyed my salad and a tuna fillet with vegetables. Simple but tasty. Fillet was a bit too big and one section was a bit grissley but that was only fault. Excellent local wines. Nice selection of desserts (not sampled!). I loved the wall of Campari & Aperol bottles!

  3. Outstanding food, atmosphere, and service”

Not only one of my favorite meals ever, but one of the warmest and best overall restaurant experiences I’ve had anywhere. The food and the wine were the best of our two-week trip, our server was friendly, funny, and helpful, service was perfectly timed, and the atmosphere of the restaurant and immediate area was just beautiful.

I had roasted red pepper soup as a first course and black risotto as a main; my husband had fried smelt and fuzi with black truffles. Every dish was extraordinarily flavorful and fresh, and the wine, a Cabernet Sauvignon from Hvar, was outstanding.

Months later, we still talk about this meal as the best of our trip and our favorite shared dining experience.

  4. “Delightful surprise”

While searching for a special place to eat among the sea of very similar restaurants, we found Bokeria and we fell in love with a charming atmosphere and amazing decor. Menu got us even more excited because Bokeria offers traditional Dalmatian ingredients in innovative dishes. I had an amazing tuna and shark kabobs on the grill, and my dinner partner had a steak salad. Breads were homemade, too, one of them even with squid ink! We finished the meal with a lovely glass of dessert wine. Waiting staff was extremely friendly and went out of their way to create a special meal for a man sitting on the next table. We can’t wait to go back there!
