  1. “Quirky, unusual and eclectic menu - great food”

This is a great restaurant in the heart of the old city of Split, in a beautiful courtyard under Roman archways. The menu is a collection of interesting variations on classic Dalmatian food, seafood and beef dishes mostly. The food was beautifully prepared and presented, and the service was friendly and efficient. Love the menu printed on a shopping bag, that’s just brilliant. Highly recommended.

  2. “Beautiful courtyard, matched by wonderful food!”

We happened to find this place on a Sunday evening when the restaurant we had planned to visit was closed. Well, we found a gem! For appetizer, we enjoyed a selection of local home-made cheeses with wonderful artesan bread. The Risotto with Adriatic shrimp, semi-dried tomatoes, pine nuts and arugula was outstanding, as was the Home-made pasta with Adriatic shrimp and Istrian truffles! The service was friendly, very efficient and fluent in English. The food was matched by the beauty of the interior courtyard with ancient walls, decked with flowers. The prices were somewhat high, but well worth it.

  3. “Special”

I would recommend this place for the nice, a bit hidden location in the middle of everything, the cosy inventive style and very good food. Tried the swordfish carpaccio, beef carpaccio (lovely!), octopussalad and homemade pasta with mushrooms (kids liked this as well). After eating out in Croatia for 2 weeks (mostly in Dubrovnik area) I found this good value for money.

  4. “Outstanding! One of the Best Meals in Croatia”

A friend and I tried Mazzgoon on our second day in Split and I cannot say enough about this fantastic little place! The seating is a mixture of inside and outside – with the outside in a small, sun-filled courtyard inside the old town. The wait staff were extremely helpful and polite and the food was some of the best we had in Croatia! Try to fresh tomato, basil, cheese and shrimp at lunch time. Delicious!

  5. Had a lovey visit to this restaurant on our first night in Split. The courtyard is a beautiful place to eat and service was excellent. Had the baby goat pasta and it was gorgeous! Would definitely go again. Our only complaint was that it was slightly pricy – however still worth a visit whilst you’re on holiday!

  6. You won’t be disappointed in this spot. Some flavor combinations that are truly one of a kind. You can tell that they put a lot of thought into every element of their business… from the food to the ambiance to the service.

  7. A must in Split!
We were just walking around the ways of the old Split and we found this place, very uncommon and we decided to come back to have dinner. Very professional and nice staff, the place is surreal, just like eating in the acient Rome. Very cozy and with amazing dishes: well cooked and amazing at the sight. All was fresh (fish and meat), amazing desserts and good wines. It’s very good for price and quality, it’s not low range but for this kind of experience you can really go and enjoy almost one time!

  8. Immangiabile

Il piatto ordinato era immangiabile. Pasta cruda e pesce cucinato con talmente tanta cipolla da diventare così dolce da renderlo davvero non mangiabile.
